Reclamation and Revegetation - Our Services
Reclamation and revegetation measures are necessary, if - within interferences into landscapes - a protecting vegetation cover does not grow or does not grow fast enough on artificially, man-made areas and thus, the thread of huge erosion problems arises. For establishing vegetation in such problematic sites, e.g. in opencast mining areas, different reclamation and land restoration procedures exist.

The
immediate protection of the surface against erosion makes hydroseeding the most important procedure in establishing vegetation on slopes and raw soils tending to erosion. Therefore, this method gains special importance in road construction (roads, railroad tracks, noise protection walls) waterway construction, mining (e.g. lignite opencast mining) and quarries as well as in the reclamation of landfills, training areas and ski slopes.

Apart from erosion control, establishing vegetation applying Heudrusch®- and hay-mulch procedures aims at establishing ecologically precious
phythocenoses of regional sources. Moreover, these
seeding procedures have also proved functionally especially effective and meanwhile have become indispensible for ensuring and protecting the genetical diversity by transferring local species and phythocenoses as well as geographical and locally founded species and subspecies. A prerequisite for this is the thorough selection of appropriate
donor areas, which are ecologically
as precious as possible. Particularly with controversial construction projects, the application of these procedures contributes a lot to achieve
larger acceptance in the public.

Contrary to hydroseeding, establishing vegetation with machines applying conventional seeding is practized only in
areas which have an arable soil and can be reached easily by vehicles. This procedure, too, requires
thorough site analyses to be able to select the appropriate seed blend. Fields of applications are e.g. training areas, airports, waterways, landfills, golf courses and parks.
